Growing up on the farm north of Promise City, our family lived just west of Bill and his family. Bill and I walked to and from Oak Grove, the one room country school, together when I was in 4th grade. After that I went to North Salem. When my dad passed away in 1958 we moved from the farm but I often thought of the Eastlick family. If I remember correctly, Steven was around my sister, Jan's age. One year our families got together for Thanksgiving. They were good neighbors. It was nice reading the comments about Bill here. May he rest in peace. Patty Littsen Hansen
Steve and Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Bill. We always liked Bill, and he was so friendly, and always asked about our family. Tom especially enjoyed him. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you.
Bill was a regular at our farm auctions and he always stopped by the food trailer to ask me, 'Have you been staying out of trouble' To which I would reply, 'What do you think That would be no fun.' His reply was always the same, 'Just what I figured.' And off he would go to look at the line up of the auction. I will miss Bill at the auctions. ~Rest In Peace.
Bill will be missed by all that knew him. He was one of the good old guys that stayed in our community and contributed as a service to those that need welding or other work done. School memories are good ones too.
I will miss seeing Bill around town. He helped me load my groceries at Aldis not too long ago. Becky Gotheridge said that Bob Thomas was a Hr5uu'Gentle Giant', I put Bill in that category too. Now they are together. Rest in Peace, Bill.
