Willa Dean Moss' Obituary
Willa Dean Moss, 91 of Unionville, MO passed away under hospital care in Columbia, MO on April, 12, 2025.
Willa Dean was born in Livonia, MO on January 28, 1934 the daughter of Frank and Ruby (Kimmel) Ruggles. After graduating from the Livonia High School she married Vernie Moss and 7 children were born to this union. Willa Dean had a servant's heart so she worked as a caregiver her entire life. She began at the old Monroe Manor, various nursing homes, and after her retirement she continued serving families as a home health care provider. Willa Dean enjoyed many of the simple things in life including, crocheting, making Afghans, gardening - vegetables and flowers, and sewing quilts. What brought Willa Dean the most joy was the time she spent around her family and her friends.
Willa Dean is survived by her children, Cheryl Oliver (Gerald) of Queen City, MO; Sharon Long (Dennis) of Centerville, IA; Judy McCarty (Danny) of Lemons, MO; Jeanie Kincanon (Jack) of Moravia, IA; Debbie Jacobs (Aaron) of Smithville, MO; and Roger Moss (Debbie) of Lemons, MO. Willa Dean's surviving grandchildren are Tracy, Taunya, Gayla, Sara, Jamie, Kimberly, Ronnie, Leslie, Asia, Garret, and Shawna. Willa Dean is also survived by 25 great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren, and a sister, Phyllis Studer.
In addition to her parents and husband, Willa Dean was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Moss; grandchildren, Bradley Tuttle and Joel McCarty; son-in-law, John McCarty; sister, Vera McCartney; brother, Lonnie Ruggles; and a brother in infancy.
Memorial in Willa Dean's honor may be made payable to the Pherigo Cemetery and entrusted to the Thomas Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
Willa Dean's Funeral Service will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home in Unionville, MO on April 22nd, 2025 at 2:00pm. Her Visitation will begin one hour prior to her service at 1:00pm.
