Wayne Adam Nickel's Obituary
Wayne Adam Nickel, son of Adam and Florence Nickel, was born in Corydon Township, Wayne County on January 11, 1919. He departed this life on August 21, 2016 at the Wayne County Hospital at the age of 97 years, with his loving family by his side. He received his education in the Corydon School system. After graduation he worked at Pipers Grocery and Grahams Department Store before he started working for L.W. Snyder Feed and Coal. He worked there for 54 years delivering feed and coal all over the county. After retiring from Snyders, he sold tickets for the school athletic events and really enjoyed it. He married Violet Green on December 19, 1942. Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Shirley, Jessie Laubsch, and Loyd and wife Julie, his grandchildren, Danilo Laubsch, and Kelsey and Christopher Nickel. He was preceded in death by his parents Florence and Adam Nickel, his wife Violet, his brother James Loyd, and his granddaughter Kasey Lynn. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon with interment immediately following at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be share at www.thomasfh.com.
