Walter "Roscoe" Daniels' Obituary
Walter "Roscoe" Daniels, 81, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his home. The son of Walter and Wilma (Fry) Daniels, he was born on July 5, 1938 in Centerville, Iowa. On August 31, 1958, he was united in marriage to Helen Fillman in Des Moines, Iowa. Roscoe grew up in Centerville and graduated from Centerville High School in 1956. While in high school, he acted in several plays. He later worked for the railroad for eleven years and then for the next thirty years for Tootsie Roll until he retired. He enjoyed woodworking and had a picture framing business. He also enjoyed nature and feeding the birds along with coaching girls' softball for five years. Roscoe is survived by his wife, Helen; his children: Michele Crase of Kirkland, Illinois, Vicky Daniels of Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin and Paul Daniels of Aurora, Illinois; five grandchildren: Brooke (Nathan) Woods, Bridget Crase (fianc Brandon Boo), Joseph Crase, Nicholas Bardell, and Merissa Daniels; two great grandchildren: Zachary and Cora Woods; one sister, Ellen Daniels of Des Moines; one brother-in-law, Larry Fillman of Des Moines; one sister-in-law, Beverly Peebler of Medford, Oregon and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ernest Daniels; two sisters, Edith Hull and Helen Walden; one son-in-law, Craig Bardell; one nephew, Mark Hull; and one niece, Tina Zugg. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow at Sharon Chapel Cemetery.
