While growing up, our grandfather loved feeding squirrels through a kitchen window on the top floor of his home. There was a clothesline right outside this window. Sitting on a stool, grandpa would clack together 2 whole nuts to draw their attention.
Vicki would be seated on his lap or standing between his legs. As the squirrel scampered up the line, he’d draw a few peanuts from a bowl, hand them to Vicki whereupon the squirrel would eat right out of her hand. She would jump up and down and squeal with delight. I can still see her blond curls flying about. She was a real cutie pie.
