Thomas DuWayne Harkins, II's Obituary
Thomas DuWayne Harkins II, 24 of Chariton, IA, passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 at his home.
Thomas was born on August 7, 1999 in Fort Benning, Georgia, the son of Thomas Harkins and Malvina Tillman. He graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia and later attended College at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia for two years.
Thomas enjoyed playing online video games, riding his four-wheeler, listening to music, watching basketball and his two favorite football teams, the Denver Broncos and Florida Gators. He loved watching Japanese Anime, wrestling, movies and YouTube videos. He liked all kinds of movies, but especially horror slasher ones. His two favorite were Michael Myers first and Jason second. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Left to honor Thomas are his parents Thomas Harkins and Malvina Tillman; step-father, Dennis Tillman; brother, Emmanuel Tillman; grandparents, Cecelia J. Harkins, Malvina Brenes and Mario Munoz; Uncles, Mario Munoz (Jesi), Melvin Munoz, Samuel Mandiche, Omar Mandiche, Timothy Harkins, Brian Harkins along with several extended family and friends.Thomas was preceded in death by his grandfather, William E. Harkins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Corydon, Iowa. Interment will follow immediately after at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, December 18, 2023 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Corydon, Iowa. Memorials in honor of Thomas may be made to the family of Thomas Harkins II, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Harkins family, 303 East Jefferson, Corydon, Iowa 50060.
