Sandra Wright's Obituary
Sandra Jean Wright, age 72 of Seymour, Iowa passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa.
She was born in Mystic, Iowa on October 2, 1940 to Dallas F. and Geraldine Avanelle ""Avie"" (Kirk) Walker.
Sandra attended Moravia High School and graduated in 1958. Sandra was united on marriage on June 7, 1958 to John David Lewis who preceded her in death in December 1960. To this union, one child was born, David Michael ""Mike"" Lewis of Seymour.
Sandra was united in marriage on August 13, 1966 to Stuart M. Wright who preceded her in death in September of 2006. She was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture, Risk Management Agency, and worked out of the Kansas City, Missouri office from 1983-2003. She traveled throughout the United States working in many different areas of the organization.
Sandra loved her family and friends. She had many special times with them. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, fishing, boating, playing cards, and having family get-togethers. She will be greatly missed by them.
She was a member of the Seymour American Legion Auxiliary and NARFE for active and retired federal employees.
Sandra is survived by son Mike (Tiena) Lewis; grandchildren, David Lewis, and Gregory Lewis (Amanda Young); great grand-daughter, Khloe Lewis; sister, Sharon (Duane) Scott of Ft. Madison, Iowa; sisters-in-law Nancy (LeRoy) Tietsort of Sedona, AZ and Peggy Oden of Centerville, Iowa; brother-in-law, Timothy (Ellen) Wright of Wentzville, MO; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Jan) Walker of Norwalk, Iowa, Penny (Rick) Sharp of Centerville, Iowa, Randy (Jody) Walker of Mystic, Iowa, Peggy (Rob) Clement of LaPlate, Missouri, Kay (Mike) Spieler of Lovilla, Iowa, Keith (Betty) McCord of Ft. Madison, Iowa, John (Sue) Tietsort of Sedona, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and one brother Dallas L. (Mickey) Walker.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Mike Finn officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 30th, with the family present from 6-8pm. A memorial has been established to The Wayne County Canine Fund and the Walnut City Christian Church Restorative Fund and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
