Mom, we miss you more than anything. I will always remember the past month we had together, even though it was in the hospital and hospice. It has been so hard to go to bed without you, since I slept next to you for 25 days. You and Dad were so happy to adopt me, but I am the one who got lucky! I could not have asked for a better Mom and Dad! We all love you and will miss your sweet voice and loving ways everyday of our lives! I have so many great memories with Aunt Ruth and Uncle Merrill, but the one that is the most special to me was the summer you were a baby, Thelma. Your Mom had a big garden and a bumper crop of peas, so she invited me up to help pick and shell the peas. I think I was 11 and hadn't been around babies too much; and I was stunned when she had me stay in the house to watch you while she went to the garden. I couldn't believe she would trust me to take care of you, even for the short time it took her to pick those peas! And I'll never forget your Mom and Dad dressed up for the square dances...they knew how to have fun!
