My hero, my rock and on a few occasions he had my back when I really needed support and others had baled on me. We had a bond, .......an understanding, and traveled some of the same roads that others we loved had not. There wasn't much that I feared from the time I was very little so I made him a great 'tomboy' after God had taken their first born, at least that's how it felt to me. 'Daddy's Hands' said it all.....that was him! Just as I'm pretty sure that the song 'Grandpa' rang true for his grandchildren. And yes, we all had nicknames he gave us but no one mentioned, Barbie(mom), Stubby(me) and Peewee(Cris),LOL He was in the labor room for the majority of the 12 hours of labor I had with Dylan and that blew me away. But, most of all, he confided in me, many times, .....times when he probably really shouldn't have but I believe he knew that I understood things about him that didn't make him proud, but it made him human and were just as much a part of what made him the unique and beloved man that I called DAD. See you on the other side Pa but, until then, I will sure be missing you;-( Stubby3
