ROBERT HYSELL,'s Obituary
Robert W. Hysell, Jr., son of Robert and Nelma (Thomas) Hysell, was born in Centerville, Iowa on March 25, 1953 and passed away March 31, 2012 at the Wayne County Hospital, surrounded by his family. Bob married the love of his life, Joyce Cox, in June 1973. To this union four children were born: Travis, Megan, Rusty, and Chris. He had a great passion for music, which started when he was younger. He was on the television show 'Country Picken Time' with his Dad and younger brother, Tom. In later years, his sister Nancy sang with them. Bob also played with other bands. Bob served in the Army from 1975 to 1985, and during this time he served in Germany twice. He was an active member of the Allerton American Legion Post 379, Sons of the American Legion, American Legion Riders, and Patriot Guard Riders. He was also a Boy Scout leader for 23 years. Bob worked at Cox's Body Shop with his father-in-law, Voltmaster Battery, Rockwell, and Shivvers. He also worked road construction and was currently working for Wolfer Trucking. Bob always had a smile on his face and would help anyone that needed it. He was a very loving and caring person and was his happiest when he was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. They all know how much he loved them. Bob also loved sneaking chocolate to his grandkids. His favorite past time was when he and Joyce rode the motorcycle with their many friends. Three days before his passing he took his final ride. He was too weak to ride his own bike, but road in a sidecar with a man he met that day and with his brother Ron leading the way. Bob told everyone after the ride that it was one of the happiest days of his life and his family had never seen him smile bigger. His dad, Robert Hysell, Sr., father-in-law Dean Cox, brother-in-law Dennis Nickell, nephew Zachary Watsabaugh, grandparents Walter and Audrey Thomas, uncles Larry and Lloyd Thomas, Lloyd Belt and Hillus Blaine preceded him in death. Bob is survived by his wife Joyce, his children Travis and Leslie Hysell, Megan and Joe Douthart, Rusty and Tiffany Hysell, and Chris and Ashley Hysell, grandchildren Jade and Sienna Hysell, Mahala, Lexi, Dylan, and Dalaynie Douthart, Balin and Audrey Hysell, and Collin and Paradise Hysell. Other survivors include his mother Nelma Hysell, brothers Tom and wife Jan and Ron and wife Lisa, sisters Nancy Nickell and Mary Watsabaugh and husband Mike, mother-in-law Willa Jeane Cox, sister-in-law Chris and family and brother-in-law Jeff and family, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.
