Richard P. Pierce's Obituary
Richard ""Rick"" Paul Pierce, age 46 of Lovilla, Iowa died Friday April 8, 2011 at the Monroe County Hospital, Albia, Iowa. Richard was born May 31, 1964 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Richard Keith and Neta (Allen) Pierce. At the age of 17, Richard began his career as a union millwright. He worked as a millwright for several years until his retirement in 2003. Richard earned his G.E.D. and later his bachelor of arts degree in business. In his free time Richard enjoyed numerous activities. He loved cooking, bowling, fishing, coon hunting, and shooting his bow. Richard was an avid stamp and coin collector, as well as a knife collector. He dedicated his life to Narcotics Anonymous. Most importantly, Richard loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Pamela Pierce of Lovilia, Iowa; a daughter Ricci Pierce, (Fiance Michael Mcsparen); parents, Richard Keith and Neta Pierce of Cincinnati, Iowa; and a brother Brian Pierce of Pella, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his son Paul Allen Pierce. Funeral services will be held at 10AM Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Pastor Walter King officiating. Friends may call Tuesday with the family present from 5-7 PM at the Lange Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati, Iowa. A memorial has been established to the family and may be left or mailed to the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.langefh.com.
