Reva Lavonna Anderson's Obituary
Reva L. Anderson, the daughter of Percy Hughes and Lucy Thomas Hughes was born January 4, 1929 in Chicago Illinois. She attended High School in Seymour, Iowa and was united in marriage to James R. Anderson on August 3, 1946 and lived west of Seymour.
Reva loved music and sang at many events, played piano and accordion.
For their retirement, Reva and Jim lived in Tucson, Arizona. Then they moved to Pella, Iowa. Reva lived at Hein Manor in Durant, Iowa. She then moved to Good Samaritan Care Center, in Davenport, Iowa.
On Friday, February 24, 2023, Reva passed at Good Samaritan Care Center in Davenport, Iowa, at the age of 94.
Her family includes three children; Bill (Carmen) Anderson of Pella, Iowa, Anna Hansen of Davenport, Iowa, and Richard (Deidra) Anderson of Clever, Missouri. Two Grandchildren; Shayla (David) Gift, and David (Sara) Anderson. Five Great-Grandchildren; Ava & Gage Gift, Reece, Pierce, Grace Anderson and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Anderson, and Grandson Daniel Hansen. Four brothers; Jack, Bert, Tom and Keith Hughes, three sisters; Iris Merritt, Bernice Kerwin, and Lela Hughes. And a special friend, Larry Harris.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, March 1, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home in Seymour from 1-2PM. Funeral Service will be held at 2PM, Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Seymour with Judy Wooton officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour. Memorials in honor of Reva may be made to Seymour Baptist Church and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Anderson Family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
