Dear John and family, Please accept my deepest sympathy. Phyllis was a wonderful friend to me. She believed in me as an artist and was so happy when I built my own store. Even when she was in poor health, she had a friend drive her to my store for a visit. I was proud to have her paintings in my store, many of which sold. She was an encourager and I already miss her. I have some paintings of hers in my house which I cherish. But most of all, I cherish the friendship we had. Joanne O'Conner

John and family, Your Mom was a very special person to everyone she met. She was an inspiration and led by example. She mentored and encouraged myself, as well as countless others. Her bright sunny personality and beautiful scarves could light up any room! Dear John & Family Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother. John, you probably do not remember me as it has been 40 years since we have seen each other. But I do think we are distant cousins because after reading Phyllis's obituary and seeing that she was a Morrow I know that the Cochrans & the Morrows are related, and it seems I remember my father telling me that you guys and us were related. My father was Rex Cochran and way back in the 60's & 70's he bought tractors and combines from your father Cliff when he had the John Deere Dealership in Moulton. That is where I remember you from, John. Again, I am very sorry to learn of your mother's passing, and I pray that God comforts you now and always. In Jesus's name. Amen.
I remember Phyllis as a child spending time at our house. She would stand out by the gate and wait for my Dad to go by so she could come over. She loved to stay with her Uncle Russell and Aunt A and we always had fun together. I was happy that I got to visit her last summer on our trip to Iowa. Phyllis was a very talented person and I have many of her paintings. She was a special lady, a dear cousin and she will be missed. John, I'm so sorry for your loss. John, we are so sorry for your loss. I am so glad I got to see and visit her at the Golden Age, and enjoyed seeing you again after so many years.
