Nick was born in Unionville, Missouri, to Nelson and Amber (Valentine) Michael. He began farming in 1969 at the age of 11 when he share cropped his first field, and never looked back. He later owned and operated Michael Foundation and ReadyMix while he farmed with his father, Nelson, and eventually with his son, Tanner. Farming was more than a livelihood for Nick-it was a lifelong passion grounded in his deep faith. He had faith that the crops would grow, that the track would read true, and that those he loved would come to know the salvation of Jesus.
Nick had a love for tractor pulling, campaigning "Snuffy" with Tanner. Together they traveled across many states, formed lifelong friendships, and earned a few victories along the way. Nick also promoted the sport as superintendent of the tractor pull at the Putnam County Fair, where he was a familiar and beloved presence-both on the track and on the board. A devoted fan of his favorite teams, Nick also found joy in coaching youth sports, where he passed on his strong work ethic and genuine love of the game. A faithful member of Parkview Church of Christ, he will be remembered for his quiet, steadfast faith and the hymns that echoed his heart.
Nick was preceded in death by his father, Nelson Michael; his brother, Monte Michael; and his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Michael; his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren: Tanner, Kate, Grady, and Magnolia Michael of Unionville, Missouri; his stepsons and their families: Josh, Tanya, Addison, and Luke Rennells of Fogelsburg, Pennsylvania, and Mikey, LaCosta, Willem, Chandler, Hilary, Collin, and Adrian Rennells of Grain Valley, Missouri.
