Mike and I went to UNI together and we had a lot of great times in Cedar Falls. Coop was the guy you could always bank on for support. He was there whenever I needed him. What a loss for mankind! Prayers are being offered for Coop, his family and friends. Rest in peace Coop. Gary Brown

Coop was roommate of mine at UNI for his final year. It is interesting to read all the comments and the listen to the news articles. It was the same Coop that i knew back then. He had not changed. You just could not 'not like' Coop. There was also not a prouder or more loyal citizen of Centerville. He loved where he came from and the people there. The last time i saw Coop was a few years ago at an Iowa football game, i was able to introduce him to my son who was like 23 at the time. My son met the man for one day. When i told him that Coop had passed away, he responded..'Not Coop!' You simply did not forget the man that all knew as 'Coop', My condolences to all his family and friends. I knew Mike through my brothers and always was a good time when I seen mike.He will be missed .
I am very sad to hear of Mike's death. Way too young. He was a good friend of mine in Webster City. We hung out together off and on and played sports together. It grieves me greatly to see the picture of Co-Op and Cole. What a tragedy it is to lose your father at such a young age. I am sure that given time Cole will realize that he had a great ten years with his dad and that he will be able to think back on those days with comfort.The picture of the baseball team was taken in my front yard. We were the Dodgers, and I am guessing, 2nd graders. We were bad ass...after all we had Mike. )I saw him a decade ago at the class reunion, the only one that he attended. Everyone was so glad to see him. I was very happy to see him again. I regret the fact that I have not seen him since.And, yes, I called him Co-Op.
