Marvin Louis "Sweed" Ryan Obituary's Obituary
Marvin Louis Ryan passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22 at Seymour United Methodist Church at 10:30 am. Randolph Funeral Home in Seymour will host a visitation from 5-7 pm on Friday, February 21. Marvin was born in Millerton, Iowa on September 14, 1937 to Chester and Velma Ryan. He graduated from Seymour Community Schools in 1956 and later Northeast Missouri State. On June 7, 1964, he was united in marriage to Inez (Sell). To this union, three children were born: Scott Ryan of Seymour, Kimberly Ryan of Highlands Ranch, CO and Mika (Dennis) Hudgens of Saginaw, TX. For forty years, Marvin worked in the field of education as a math teacher, coach, principal in various Iowa school districts. He then served as the Superintendent of Schools in Olin for 16 years. After retiring in 2001, Marvin and Inez returned to Seymour and built their home north of town. Marvin is survived by his wife of 49 years, Inez (Sell) Ryan, his three children, his three grandchildren, Payden, Hanna and Will Hudgens of Saginaw, TX and his brother, Jack (Dea) Ryan of Des Moines.
