Mario Macias' Obituary
Mario Tejeda Macias, age 33, of Plano, Iowa died early Sunday, April 13, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident north of Plano.
Mario was born November 1, 1974, the son of Mario and Rosalia (Tejeda) Macias in San Diego, California. He spent his childhood in San Diego, during which he played baseball and soccer, ran track, and wrestled in high school. Mario moved to Plano, Iowa at the age of thirty two. He worked part time at The Landing north of Plano. Mario was also employed with Jim Roman, building duck blinds and landscaping. He also helped his cousin Eddie Smith with training bird dogs. Mario enjoyed living in Appanoose County, especially his time spent hunting and fishing. He had a great sense of humor and was known by those around him for his charming personality.
Mario is survived by his parents; his aunt Guadalupe Tejeda of San Diego, California; his uncle Robert J. Smith; two sisters, Eloisa Macias of San Diego, California, and Marissa Garcia of San Diego, California; two brothers, Luis Tejeda and Jose LanDrove both of San Diego, California; two grandmothers and one grandfather; thirty cousins, and several aunts and uncles.
A visitation will be held Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home from 12 PM to 8 PM with the family present from 6-8 PM, with cremation to follow the visitation. A Memorial service will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with Father Timothy Guthridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Brushy Cemetery, north of Plano, Iowa. A memorial has been established to the family and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, IA 52544.
