First of all, I would just like to say how blessed we all were if you were related to or even knew our Aunt Mabel!!! She was one of God's Best!! Our Aunt Mabel was one of the strongest Christian women I have ever known. She was ALWAYS the ready for church services & even if we didn't go, she & Uncle Carl would go. She was faithful! One of my fondest memories of her was when the Corders lived in Moline, IL. The Gene Grimm family were there on vacation & IL was having a storm. It was truly raining buckets. Darrell (my brother) & I wanted to go swimming. So, Aunt Mabel had us go put our swimsuits on , we went outside & sat in the gutter, played in the rain & had an absolute wonderful ole' time!!!!! Whenever I have something done to my hair, I think of Aunt Mabel. For as long as I can remember she had a weekly standing appointment for her hairdo, WITHOUT FAIL!!!! Now, when the Corded family came to visit us in Washington & they brought Grandma Stites with them almost always. Once we went up to Mt. Rainier & if you knew my Dad (Gene) at all, you know he was one of the best drivers God ever put on this great green earth!!!! Well, I'm not quite sure who all was in our old Dodge Cornet, but Kevin was there. My Dad decided to have some fun with Kevin, so he drove right on the very (safest) edge of the ascending highway up to the Mountain. Kevin was so scared he cowarded down on the floor of the car & pretty much stayed there all the way up to Paradise Park. When we got there & all if us got out Aunt Mabel about had fit!!!! I think she yelled at my Dad for almost killing her son!!!! It was hilarious!!! I could go on & on about how wonderful our Aunt Mabel was, but if you knew her even for a moment you know!!!! We now pray for her family who are left here on earth to adjust to life without her, but knowing she is far, far better off where she is, rejoicing, singing & worship at the feet of our Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ!!! And I know with all my heart she would love for you to join her in that adoration, so if you are seeking talk to someone about it today!!!! Love You, Aunt Mabel, thanks for the memories!
