Leslie VanBlaricom's Obituary
Leslie Ann VanBlaricom, age 44 of Centerville, Iowa left our loving care on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa.
She was born on November 5, 1966 to Leslie Lee and Constance (Losey) VanBlaricom in Davenport, Iowa.
Leslie was a registered nurse. She was very proud of her profession. Leslie worked at Centerville Medical Center in the emergency room. She was a compassionate and capable nurse. She was respected and appreciated by her co-workers, and loved by her patients.
Leslie enjoyed being with her boys and grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She was an avid horse woman and received many medals and ribbons for her showmanship and barrel racing. A little gambling and a lot of cruising were other things she enjoyed.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; a favorite uncle Joseph Pheasant and mother-in-law Ellen Sleeth of Exline, Iowa.
Leslie Ann is survived by her parents; her husband Richard Sleeth of Exline, Iowa; sons Michael Lee (Norrita) Moorman of Centerville, and Gunnar Sleeth of Exline; four grandchildren Amira, Angel, DeVon and Makai Moorman of Centerville; a brother Donald (Meredith) VanBlaricom of Cincinnati, sister Karen (Rodney) Richmond of Cincinnati; nieces Bridgette Richmond, Abbie and Addison Kepner, Ashtyn VanBlaricom of Cincinnati, and Tate Knight of Bloomfield, nephew Steven Richmond of Cincinnati; father-in-law Russell Sleeth of Exline. Leslie was loved by her aunts and uncles and cousins.
Leslie will be missed by her family and friends. She left us far too soon!
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 AM, Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa. Following the memorial service there will be a burial of the cremated remains in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that monetary donations be designated to the family and they may be left at or mailed to Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa.
