Laurence Ball's Obituary
Ralph Laurence Ball, 86 of Cincinnati passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. Laurence was born to Ralph & Audrey (Thompson) Ball in Morning Sun, Iowa on October 9, 1928. He received his education from Wapello High School. Laurence was united in marriage to Carroll Darlene Drake. Laurence was a farmer and was also employed by Union Carbide as a mechanic. He and his wife raised their five children on the family farm in Cincinnati. Laurence enjoyed family gatherings and his time spent in Minnesota in the summer. Of all the hobbies Laurence had, fishing was his favorite. Survivors include five children: Laura Jean Yarger of Coolidge, Arizona, Dana Ralph Ball of Allerton, Iowa, Helen Helleur (Dennis) of Cincinnati, Iowa, Deon Carroll Brown (Mark) of Cincinnati, Charla Marie Jerome of Lawrence, Kansas, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; brothers: Jerry Ball (Marie) of Morning Sun, Iowa, John Elmer Ball (Betty of Mediapolis, Iowa and many extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife Carroll Ball and his parents. A visitation will be from 3-5 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home.
