Laura "Kathy" Kathleen Shriver, 94 of Corydon passed away, Friday, June 30, 2023 at her residence. Kathy was born on April 16, 1929 to Harrison and Alice (Widner) Cooksey. She was united in marriage on December 30, 1945 to Cecil Read Obituary

Mrs. Kathy was always so precious to me. She was a true prayer warrior. I always knew if I asked her to pray for something, she would pray and God would answer. I have not been able to get pregnant and one day Mrs. Kathy brought me a pair of earrings to church. She told me, "Whenever you wear these, remember that I am praying for you to have a child." That meant the world to me and those earrings became a prized possession.
She was my Sunday School teacher when I was a little kid,one of the best. A very Godly woman love her dearly. I remember a sermon about how our Sunday school teachers,pastors,parents and people leading us when we are young,how they have invested their time in us to teach us about the Word of God. I will foerever be grateful to Miss Kathy for investing her time into all of us kids in her class.
What a great lady. I had lots of great memories of her here at Pleasent View. I really liked talking to her and Cecil. He sure was proud of all his John Deere collection. RIP Kathy.
