Hanna Marie Gilkison Obituary's Obituary
Hanna Marie Gilkison, 87 of Centerville passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. Marie was born to David & Hannah (Henry) Herbel in Herington, Kansas on January 12, 1924. She married James Gilkison on October 11, 1943 in Junction City, Kansas. She was a homemaker and was involved with the Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary. VFW Am Vets and the Legion Auxiliary. Marie enjoyed shopping, cooking, flowers and time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandkids. She also enjoyed their family dog 'Jack'. Marie is survived by two daughter, Carolyn Sue Guzzi(Sam) of Redfield, IA, Sandy Cossolotto(Robert) of Centerville, three grandchildren; Angela Wilson(Richie Selsor) of Des Moines, Robin Little(Scott) of Des Moines, T.J. Guzzi and Kris and her child Sam of Altoona, five great grandchildren; Alex Wilson of Des Moines, Jimmy Guzzi of Altoona, Nicolas, Caleb and Elizabeth Little all of Des Moines, two sisters; Patricia Jo Gilkison of Davenport, Betty Baird of Topeka, KS and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband James Gilkison, daughter, Patty Jo Herbel-Wendlandt, brother, LeRoy Herbel, grandson, David Wendlandt, grandson, Sammy Guzzi, granddaughter, Mary Ann Guzzi and infant grandson Cossolotto. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2011 at Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour. Visitation will be all day Thursday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home.
