Gloria Lee Montgomery's Obituary
Gloria Montgomery of Plymouth, Minnesota passed away on June 2, 2021 at The Willows of Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
Gloria Lee Glines was born on March 28, 1932 to Frank Earl and Frances Jewel (Roberson) Glines in Chariton, Iowa. She attended school in Wayne County and graduated from Corydon High School in 1950. She went on to further her education at Drake University and graduated in 1954 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.
Gloria was united in marriage to Robert Max Montgomery and to this union four children were born: Paul, Matthew, Caroline, and Suzanne. Gloria was a teacher and day care provider, she was loved and appreciated by all of the children and families she touched with her careful nurturing and support. She also loved dogs, painting, gardening, watching birds and listening to music. Glo was witty and loved humor. Her story telling and big laugh were legendary and that is how she will be best remembered.
She is survived by her children: Paul David Montgomery (Bonnie), Matthew Frank Montgomery (Tiffany), Caroline Montgomery Meyer (Daniel), Suzanne Glines Austin (Michael), grandchildren: Elizabeth Satterlund (James), Jason Montgomery, David Montgomery (Brianna), Seaver Montgomery, J.T. Montgomery, Abby Montgomery, Max Meyer, Ava Meyer, Ally Austin, Belle Austin, four great grandchildren, sister Betty Glines-Wright, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert Montgomery.
Graveside service will be Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Corydon Cemetery with Pastor Diane Olson Schroeder officiating. There will be a reception following the service from 12:30-2:30 at Hotel Rea in Corydon.
