Frances Sniegowski's Obituary
Frances Veronica Raskie Sniegowski died August 11, 2011 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville Iowa .
Frances, the daughter of Steve Raskie and Eva Cinkovich Raskie, was born September 11, 1925 at Goatsburg near Cincinnati, Iowa. She married Stephen Ralph Sniegowski on November 3, 1947 at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Chicago.
Fran is survived by three brothers; Carl Raskie and his wife Marie of Moline, IL, Gabe Raskie and his wife Betty of Centerville, Steve Raskie and his wife Doris of Centerville, five sisters; Mary Adams and her husband Abie of Centerville, Christina Kolniak of Burr Ridge, IL, Cecilia Budiselich of Centerville, Patricia Jolly and her husband Jim of Roscoe, IL, Helen Hawk of Centerville, son Leonard Sniegowski of Des Moines, daughters Patricia Timmens of Goatsburg and Mary Rampone of Reno, Nevada, four grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, brothers George & Mike Raskie, sister Eva Raskie Ruark and sons Jeffrey and Louis Sniegowski.
Fran worked for many years as a nurse's aide and later as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the local hospital. She enjoyed babysitting for her friends and family. Fran was a kind and gentle person and will be missed by all who knew her.
At Fran's request, she was cremated and there will be a mass at 11 AM, Saturday, August 13, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with Father Dennis Schaab officiating. Visitation Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville. Burial of the remains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to your favorite charity in Franny's name and they may be left at or mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
