Elizabeth A. Buban's Obituary
Elizabeth A. Buban died at Mercy Hospice in Johnston on November 15, 2010. She was born to Pete and Augusta (Blazina) Morris on October 31, 1918 in Rathbun, Iowa.
She attended St. Mary's School in Centerville and later worked for Dr. W.B. Miller and as a waitress at the Green Circle. After graduating from cosmetology school she operated her own beauty shop for many years and was known to give 'the best haircuts in town."" After retiring she continued doing hair at Long Term Care and Lange Funeral Home. She delivered Meals on Wheels, was a member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and St. Mary's Church where she tended their plants.
She prayed daily for those on her long list, loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She was a good cook, baked great bread, tended a beautiful flower garden and at age 85 began using a computer, had a FACEBOOK account and emailed her many friends and family daily.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hans; daughter in law, Marietta Buban; her grandchildren, Andrea (Ron) Burnette, Adam Hans, Eric (Stacy) Buban and Angela (Ty) Stelling. She was ""Gramma Great"" to AnneMarie and Brianna Stelling, CJ and Ryan Burnette and Elizabeth, Lauren and Allison Buban. Her brothers, Tom and Vincent Morris and sister Pauline Deininger also survive as well as nieces and nephews especially Harry Deininger and long time friend Cathy Butkovich and homecare worker Emma Leopard. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Kay and brother Phillip, her son Michael and son in law Gil.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, November 22, 2010 at the St Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, Iowa, with Father Michael Amadeo officiating. Internment of the cremains will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa. A visitation will be held Sunday evening at the Lange Funeral Home with family present from 4-6 PM with a scripture service at 6 PM. A memorial has been established to the St Mary's Church. In lieu of flowers make a donation to your local food pantry or bring food items for the Lord's Cupboard to either the funeral home or the church.
