Edna Mae Brown's Obituary
Edna Mae Brown passed away on November 20, 2020 at Corydon Specialty Care. Edna Mae was born January 8, 1942 in Chariton, Iowa to Rondel and Vera (Sayers) Murrow. She attended school in Humeston until her senior year and graduated from Corydon in 1960. She married Dwight Brown on June 12, 1960 in Cambria, Iowa. The couple had three children, Patty, Nancy and Cindy. Over the years, she worked at the Corydon Hospital as a nurses' aide, Wayne Community School as a secretary, as a home health aide and drove a school bus for Wayne Community. She also worked as a housewife and helped with the farming. She enjoyed reading, living on the farm with the animals and attending club with the Cambria women. She also enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children Patty Hanson (Chris), Nancy Casey and Cindy Kelly (Tim), grandchildren Justin Hersom (Tanya), Travis Hersom (Paola), Ben Hanson (Cassandra), Heidi Hanson (Tyler), Melissa Hildenbrand (Tyler), Shelby Bertelsen (David), Matthew Bertelsen (Cheyenne), Cody Bertelsen, Tanner Kelly (Hannah), Sarah Kelly and Amber Kelly, ten great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Clydine Birkland and Beverly Hart, a brother-in-law, Richard Brown and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dwight, and brothers, Kenneth and David. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon with Paul Niday officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Cambria Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2020 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. (family not present) and from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. (family present) at Thomas Funeral Home. Those attending the visitation and/or funeral will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Memorials may be given to the family and will be designated at a later date.
