Dear Chris & Pat,I want to let you know how much your Mom and Dad mean to Waymon, me, Gina, and Jenni.Although your Mom and Dad were always clear that they had one daughter, one son-in-law, and two grandchildren, they made Waymon and me feel that we were special to them. Gina and Jenni never had a Grandfather, so your Dad and Mom became surrogate grandparents for them also. Melanie, TJ, Gabriel, Virginia, and Ronny also know about Aunt Edith and Uncle Louie because of the way Gina and Jenni mention their names in their children's presence. One of our best memories is the Thanksgiving Edith & Louie spent with us at Jenni's house in Houston. Your Mom told us the funniest stories about growing up. She also told us she was one of the rebel's of the family. Although I know you missed them for that holiday, we gained some special memories. We made pies together (Jenni, me, and your Mom). She made her oyster dressing for us, and we had so much fun.It is interesting that within the family, there are so many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that feel they are special to your Mom & Dad. I know the saying goes that people have an endless capacity for love, but the two of them were and are the living embodiment of that capacity to love and make others feel loved. I will bet if we all got together, we would sound like the Smother's brothers routine about who mom loved best. Each of us would also have our own Edith & Louie stories. Thank you for sharing her with us for the time we had her and continuing to share your Dad. We love them both, and what a legacy of love Aunt Edith is leaving behind for us.Bonnie and Waymon Posted by Waymon Blevins - Saint Peters, MO - Nephew July 07, 2014
