So very, very sorry to hear of Ed's passing. We were in TX when we heard the news. Although I am now retired, I have worked with Ed for several years. I had just seen him on the previous Tues. He was a fun, witty guy, always with a smile and a 'work' story to tell. I know he will be missed by many friends, co-workers and family. Our heart felt condolences go out to all! 'Smitty'
Although I probably haven't seen Eddie for close to 40 years, I can still see his silly grin like it was yesterday. We used to shoot the breeze around the high school, mostly about politics. But my most vivid memory of Eddie was losing a $5 bet (a lot of money to a high schooler back in those days) over the name of the actress who played Morticia on the Addams Family (the TV show, not the movie). He was right, of course -- as usual.
Enjoyed playing football with Ed during High School and golf while visiting Iowa as I left in '81 to join the Army. In the mid 80's traveled to Corydon Iowa and met up with Ed while on leave from the Army, we hopped in his blue truck with a camper top and headed out on a road trip to Greene Iowa to attend the wedding of our great friend Nick Street. While making small talk as I kept us in beers, Ed asked, 'What did you say you do in the Army' To which I replied, 'I repair electronics for Military Intelligence personnel.' Ed replies with, 'Well there's one hell of an oxymoron, he he he he he.' My writing skills don't do the comment justice as it's difficult to express Ed's ear to ear grin as he went on with his laugh and snorting as Ed was prone to do. Yes we made it to Greene Iowa where we made everlasting impressions on the Debner family during there daughter Margaret's wedding to Nick but damn we had a great time! Miss you Eddie Bell...Ding! Ding! Ding!
Learned of Ed's passing while I was on vacation in Hawaii. I'm still stunned, as he was way too young. I've known Ed for almost 40 years and we've played sports against each other, watched them together and drink more than a couple of beers together. I have so many Dinger stories that its tough to choose just one (however, a Royals game when I lived in KC comes to mind). RIP Eddie Bell!

Eddy Bell as I called him, was just a few months younger than my brother. He was a great trickster and onery young boy, Ed never ran into me that he did not have a huge grin on his face....... I always wondered what mischief he was up to, You will be greatly missed.
It's been forever since we had seen each other but I will always remember his warm smile and the twinkle in his eyes . You will be missed
Gosh, I don't even know where to begin. Growing up every summer my family always took a trip over to Iowa, mother's side and Wisconsin, father's side. Most of our visits to Iowa we stayed with my aunt Betty and family. We always enjoyed hanging out with Eddie Bill and the rest of the Morgan clan. I have such fond memories of our times with Eddie Bill. He loved teasing his mom and sister. He was such a sweet guy and fun to be around. He will be sorely missed. May you rest in peace Eddie Bill.
