Dwight Blumer's Obituary
Dwight Blumer, 91, of Centerville, passed away on May 9, 2018 at Centerville Specialty Care Center. Dwight was born on November 27, 1926 in Moravia to the late Fred and Renta (Fullerton) Blumer. After attending Moravia high school, Dwight proudly served in the United States Navy. After honorable discharge, he married Bonnie Morris in Centerville in 1949 and to this union, one son was born. Dwight was a handyman and laborer his whole life. He dug wells and worked at Brickyard in Centerville and also worked at Chamberlain's in Albia. He enjoyed carpentry work and helping on a family farm. In his spare time, Dwight enjoyed collecting stamps, watching wild animals and was an avid birdwatcher. Dwight is survived by his son, Randy Blumer; special caretakers: Shirley Houser and Laura Jean Yeager as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie; brothers: Lloyd, Clell, Wayne and Emory as well as his sisters: Doris and Ruth. A graveside service and military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Dale Cemetery.
