Deloris Maxine Miner Obituary's Obituary
Deloris Maxine (Sloan) Miner was born west of Cambria to Lemuel Bud and Wilma (Neal) Sloan on July 9th, 1928. She attended the Cambria school from kindergarten through graduation in 1946. After graduation she worked at the Cambria Store until 1950. She married Donald Miner, the love of her life, on June 3, 1950. They worked at the Super Value Grocery Store in Corydon for a few years and then began farming with Don's dad, Bill Miner. Bill passed away before they got to farm a full year together. After that they took up farming on the family farm full time. From 1970 to 1980 Deloris was employed as a cook at the Cambria Junior High School. It was more than a job for her. She made an impact on many children's lives through her nurturing and caring for each individual child, and also was a darn good cook. Deloris was a wonderful, selfless, dedicated and patient mother and grandmother. Deloris was also a loving daughter that took care of her mother in later years when she became ill. Left to treasure her memory are her husband of 60 years, Don, and her three children: Linda Miner of Chariton, Jim and Brenda Miner of Cambria, Sherry and Jon Trower of Corydon. Five grandchildren, Jacob Miner, Stefanie Miner and friend Ryan Wallace, Matthew Miner, Ashley and Adam Hysell, and Brandon and Heidi Trower. And Super Extraordinary Great Grandchildren Austin Miner, Allissi Trower, and Baby Hysell to be. She was extremely proud of each and every one of them. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Jack Miner and wife Marilyn, brother-in-law Bill Miner and wife Gert, and sister-in-law Dorothy Stephens. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Wilma Sloan, brother and sister-in-law Mardeth and Bernadine Sloan, brother and sister-in-law Lee and Marie Miner, nephew Richard (Spick) Sloan, and niece Kay Gillaspy. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Deloris.
