I was thinking about Dean just the other day as I was driving around the gravel roads of South Central
Iowa. I just decided to look him up and found that he had passed. Condolences to all of Dean's family. I remember him talking about (or my Grandfather, Ralph Vandell, talking about) having Dean custom combine his farm during harvest each year. Dean and his wife Doris also shared their farm with me for Spring turkey hunts over the years. What a beautiful place they have.

We are friends with Brian, Jennifer, Tyler, and Dylan Glick. Through this friendship it feels like we know "Grandpa Dean and Grandma Doris" in spite of having never met them. We have prayed for Dean and Doris many times as they've experienced health issues. We continue to pray for Doris and all the family as they grieve the passing of Dean. I've heard Dean and Doris were/are determined, strong-willed, amazing people. His passing leaves a hole in many hearts I'm sure. A special prayer also for Connie who is grieving the passing of both her dad, Dean, and her husband, Bob, in such close proximity to one another.

I want to say I loved the part about the metal dinosaur sculptures Dean made. I have wondered for many years who made those amazing sculptures and now I have the answer! I will think of Dean and Doris in the future when I drive by them!
