Wow...David was just one nicest guys I've ever known. I met David while he was at DePauw. Known to his close college friends as "Dills" he was very 1970s cool and hip and he was a great friend. He had a wonderful log home out in the Indiana countryside as he loved nature and being in the woods. I lost touch with him after his college days but his memory lives on!
I just got told Dave passed away today. He was always happy and he was an awesome guys. I'm glad I got to meet him. My thoughts and prayers r with the family always. Loved him.
What an incredible loss of an incredible man. No words can express enough sympathy to you all. I am sending big hugs and an enormous amount of love your way.

My 7th grade year saw several changes in my outward appearance. In one weekend, I received my much needed glasses and a new hair style. On Monday, Mr. Dillon introduced me as a new student because I looked so different than I did on Friday when I left his class! To say he was a favorite teacher of mine would be doing him a disservice. Dave was so much more than just a favorite, he was loved by many of us in the North Putnam Class of 1982 and will be missed so many more. God bless the family he leaves behind and the legacy that is truly his.
I enjoyed teaching with David at North Putnam. He was a great English teacher! Condolences to the family.
