I remember a while ago walking into Davids golf shop and watching him hit golf balls left handed and then right handed and I was thinking hell this guy can hit a golf ball...He golfed many tournaments with me and the company I worked for and through the years we shared a love in the game of golf I had always wished I had half the talent David had..I remember one day while out golfing he tried to teach me course management and I wasn't having any of that but found that many years later that thought David put in my head well it came back to me and I smiled and thanked him....I know that the man I knew is up in heaven teaching God to play now and I hope one day that we'll get the chance to tee it up again maybe by then I won't embarrass the rest of the foursome...RIP Brother
Thank you everyone for your thoughts. prayers and memories of my brother. It is very nice to read all the great things he has done. As we grow up, we tend to go our own ways, still visiting but not always together. Reading about him and what he did for you and your families is very comforting. I remember as a child growing up (me being a tom boy), I always wanted to play baseball at the park with my brother and his friends. At the time David would never pick me on his team (you know I'm a girl and not as good as boys - lol). This went on for a short period of time until I started hitting home-runs and playing as good as the boys. Then things changed and he picked me all the time! In January 2013 my father passed away and all my brother Terry Wry had to do was give Dave a call from California and he was on his way to Leslie Missouri. I had heard many stories about Dave but wasn't sure they were all true till I meet him. We laughed, we cried, we went through everything with his guidance along the way. He helped us decide and know what to keep and what to get rid of. This was a home where nothing was ever given away, things for 80 years was kept. We found things we would never of found, such as family heirlooms and we found things we wish we had never found, Viagra and rubbers. Without Dave helping our family and Denise helping also for weeks we would have been lost on what to do and where to start. David you were a God send and we will miss you dearly. After this event he started talking about a book Under the bed and in the Closet to help others going through this same loss and what to discuss with your parents before it is too late. You sure made an impression on our family in our time of need. You were the little brother I never had and I know you are in a better place. ( There I finally admitted you were the younger one. lol Love You and will miss you the rest of my days. ) Janet Wry Miller
Dave was a good guy. I played a few rounds of golf with him. I remember pulling in the parking lot of Manhattan golf course there was his box truck with a push cart by it. I parked next to him and got out and he came around the truck and says the push cart was mine because he had an extra. He has given me some new balls and worked on a few of my clubs.
