Clova Junior Traxler's Obituary
Clova ""Junior"" Traxler, age 88 of Ottumwa, Iowa died Wednesday May 25, 2011. Junior was born March 6, 1923 in Chariton, Missouri, the son of Clova M. and Eva Lucille (Eddy) Traxler. After graduating from high school, Junior enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country in the South Pacific from 1942-1946. Upon the completion of his military service, Junior went to work at John Deere in Ottumwa. He worked in the accounting department for John Deere for thirty years until his retirement. Junior also farmed in Chariton, Missouri. He loved raising cattle. In his free time, Junior liked mowing the grass and raising flowers. He also thoroughly enjoyed collecting antiques. He is survived by his two sisters, Charlene A. (John) Thompson of Johnston, Iowa and Donna J. (Robert) Mullenix of Agency, Iowa; three nephews, Gregory L. (Hollis) Thompson of Austin, Texas, Stephen (Jan) Mullenix of Parker, Colorado, and Timothy A. (Candy) Mullenix of Irmo, South Carolina; and special family friend, John ""Jack"" Buretta of Ottumwa, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Reverend Jim Schweizer officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday at Lange Funeral Home with the family present from 5-7 PM that evening. Burial will take place in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Chariton, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the Mt. Hermon Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
