It seems I've known Clova forever, at least from the time I was born. Clova would have been 31 back then in 1954. He was always around when I came to visit my grandparents, Stanley & Mary Buretta, in Ottumwa. After I graduated from Luther College in 1976, I traveled for a manufacturers' rep, selling industrial water treatment equipment. One of my usual stops while in Ottumwa was John Deere. I always would see Clova working there and made a point to let him know I was there.I deeply appreciated the fact that Clova would drive my Uncle Jack up to the VA Hospital in Coralville for his doctor appointments. During the past few years, that trip would be extended up to Cedar Rapids so Jack could see my mom, his sister, Eileen, at Crestview Acres nursing home in Marion, IA. When Mom passed away last October, Clova brought Jack up to attend the visitation. It was always good to see him. He always had a smile on his face. The world lost a good one last week when Clova passed away. I know there is a great big void in my Uncle Jack's life now, but I, too, will miss him a great deal.Rest in peace, Clova. Posted by Greg Wymore - Cedar Rapids, IA - Friend May 31, 2011
