Dear Family, DeWayne has been a close and dear friend to our family as long as I can remember. My dad, Paul, is sad to hear of the passing of one of his best lifetime friends and a fellow farmer. We talked about your family at length and have many happy memories of your mom and dad and Russell. A large man in stature, even larger as a human being. I always looked forward to his conversations, and always felt better after talking to DeWayne. We became friends when both Mabel and Marilyn served on the state Farm Bureau Women's Committee. We had many good times together at state and national Farm Bureau meetings over the 10 years that Marilyn served on that committee. We also enjoyed visiting with them at Iowa Master Farm Homemaker meetings. We were overnight guests in the Moore home when Marilyn was attending a District 8 Women's Workshop. We grew close to both the Moores, and are saddened at the news that De Wayne has passed away. The last time we saw DeWayne was in April of 2011 when we stopped at his home to visit on our way back from the National Master Farm Homemaker Annual Meeting in Myrtle Beach, SC.
