I first met Crazy Ray in 1989, and what an impression he made on me! I knew what LIVING LIFE was all about! I did not know until that time...I was only 18! Still, I KNEW I wanted to live, laugh and love as this man did EVERY SINGLE time I saw him. He made me feel like family and accepted me as Shelly and Scott's friend as family. The world lost a great soul and everyone should take a lesson from Carl and his generosity, caring and thoughtful ways. He truly could make anyone smile even on their worst days. I have known Crazy Ray my whole life, not only was he crazy but he was a very nice man. I have many memories of my parents getting together with Carl Ray and Shirley. I grew up with Carl Ray In Mystic in a time and place long gone. My memories are of a younger, innocent time, but of a time and place that it was wonderful to be apart of. My deepest sympathies to Scott & Shelly & all of Carl Ray's family & friends. I first knew of Carl Ray when I was at the very young age of about 12 years old in 1970. My first remembrance of him was when he had that early 30's Ford hot rod. Shortly after that, Carl Ray worked for my father for one or two seasons in the fields as a farm hand. I always thought highly of Carl Ray, and am sad to see that he has passed. May the Lord comfort all of his, and especially Scott & Shelly. Amen.
