Carl Agan's Obituary
Carl Agan, age 64 of Centerville, Iowa went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
He was born March 18, 1947 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Homer and Edith (Miller) Agan. Carl married Carolyn Peek on July 23, 1966 in Unionville, Missouri. Carl began working for Ideal Ready Mix in the early 1970s. His tenure with the company began with him driving a dump truck. By the 1980s Carl transitioned into a manager with Ideal. He spent greater than a decade in management before returning to the road where he finished out his full time career as a dump truck driver. Carl worked almost forty years with Ideal. He never truly retired from the company. He continued to work for Ideal on a part time basis up until his death.
He had a passion for the outdoors. Carl enjoyed camping, especially the time he spent cooking over an open fire for friends and family. He loved fishing, notably the annual Spring crappie fishing trips with his family. Carl also loved mushroom hunting and ""playing in the timber with his chainsaw.""
Family reminisced how Carl loved his schnauzer puppy Nichole. Nichole has always been truly part of the family. Most importantly, Carl loved his family and grandchildren. He was always there to help out a friend in need. Carl was also a member of the Church of Prayer in Centerville.
He is survived by his mother Edith Agan at the Seymour Care Center; his wife Carolyn Agan of Centerville, Iowa; two children, Carl (Tina) Agan Jr. of Altoona, Iowa and Tammy (Gerrod) Roberts of Corydon, Iowa; four sisters, Marietta McGrann, Marilyn Borland, Linda Brown, and Sheila Campbell; eight brothers, Dallas Agan, Russell Agan, Wendall Agan, Mike Agan, Danny Agan, Olen Agan, DeWayne Agan, and Neal Agan; and nine grandchildren, Ashley Webber, Kyle Peek, Jessica Coatney, Mike Agan, Jake Agan, Madison Agan, Heath Roberts, Geordon Roberts, and Hunter Roberts.
