Brian W. Spurgeon, 43, of Altoona passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at his home in Altoona. Brian was born to Lee and Bonnie (Melvin) Spurgeon on March 29, 1967 in Bloomfield, Iowa. He received his education from Moulton Schools and Iowa School of Beauty in Ottumwa. He was a hairdresser for many years in the Des Moines area. Brian enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. Brian is survived by his father, Lee Spurgeon of Moulton, brother, Brad Spurgeon(Robin) of Centerville, sister, Sherry Roach of Lafayette, Louisiana, three nieces, two nephews and an aunt, Betty Goldizen from Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Spurgeon and a niece, Amanda Spurgeon. Visitation will be all day Monday, January 10, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A private family graveside and interment will be held at a later date in Arni Cemetery near Lancaster, Missouri.
