When I was growing up in grade school, I was always envious of the kids who had grand parents. Other than the grandparents in my family today, if I could pick someone as a role model for grand parents, DeVere an Bettye would be my picks! Both are great human beings! I certainly am glad to have known Miss Betty, she was always pleasant, friendly, and a very Godly woman. Miss Bettye, was an amazing woman, always had kind words to share. We remember, eating one of her dinner rolls, at a church luncheon, they were the best!! I am so thankful to have known Ms Bettye. Her life and generosity touched so many people. Only God knows how many will spend eternity in heaven because of her witness to them. My heart goes out to all of Miss Bettye's family. She was in inspiration, a kind soul, wonderful cook ) and a friend to every person she met. From the 1st time Miss Bettye and Mr DeVere walked into my fitness business, I felt so very happy that I had gotten a chance to meet them, Miss Bettye and I would cook with recipes while they both worked on the machines. Miss Bettye was a very special lady and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for her and I will never forget this delightful lady! Miss Bettye was a very special lady. God placed her perfectly in the lives of friends & especially neighbors. She was truly a great spiritual leader for those around her, and because of that, the lives she touched are forever changed. Her kindness and love was a great testimony to many and because of this, it brought many closer to Christ, even when it was unexpected. I especially loved to hear her talk about cooking. Our family really got to know Miss Bettye from the farmers market. She came and sat there many times to monitor the market, and as regular vendors, she shared many recipes with me, out of her collection of recipe books. As a matter of fact, she even wrote several of her favorites down and I still have them today. I plan to can that pickle relish this year and when doing so, I will think of Miss Bettye. I am not sure if there is any cooking going on in heaven, but if so, I would guess that she is surely one of the head chefs.
