Bessie L. Harvey's Obituary
Bessie Harvey, age 99 of Centerville, Iowa died Thursday morning, April 1, 2010 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.
Bessie was born June 18, 1910 in Exline, Iowa the daughter of Claude and Rosetta Sumpter Robbins. She married Noble Edward Harvey in February of 1929 in Bloomfield, Iowa. She made a home for her family most of her life and loved crafts, including crocheting, quilting and painting. She was a member of the Gospel Chapel in Centerville for many years.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara (Richard) Williams of Urbandale, Iowa, two grandchildren Jim Williams of Iowa City, Iowa and Jan (Rich) Basart of Merced, CA, and 6 great grandchildren.
Bessie was preceded in death by her husband Noble, parents, brothers Lonnie, Leslie and Boyd Sumpter; and sisters Stella Grenko and Agnes Hughes.
Graveside services will be held 11:30 Saturday morning, April 3, 2010 at Haines Cemetery north of Centerville with Pastor Lloyd Johnston officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11AM Saturday morning at the Lange Funeral Home, Centerville. A memorial has been established to Mercy Hospice and may be left at Lange Funeral Home.
