Yvonne D. Paxston's Obituary
Yvonne Paxston, age 57 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at her home.
She was born on January 8, 1957 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Linda (Cornett) Paxston.
She was an amazing mother and grandmother and shared a special bond with them. Her favorite place to take her grandkids was the park. Friends and family will always remember her home as being spotless and welcoming. She never knew a stranger and would do anything she could to help others. Yvonne was not only a beautiful person on the outside but especially on the inside. She will be missed by so many more than she could ever know.
Her last employment was at the Drake Library in the children's department, which she loved. It brought her great joy to work with children. She also loved reading.
She is survived by her daughter Amber (Clay) Winn of Ottumwa, Iowa; grandchildren Carley and Chale Winn of Ottumwa, Iowa; her mother, Linda Van Dike of Centerville, Iowa; a step-brother Michael Van Dike of Centerville; two brothers, Kenneth and Wayne Paxston both of Centerville, Iowa. Yvonne was preceded in death by her father, Howard Paxston; and grandparents, Kenneth and Virginia Cornett.
Memorial services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Tony Angran officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ararat Cemetery east of Centerville on Highway 2. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Family of Yvonne Paxston and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
