Yvonne "Vonnie" Crees Obituary's Obituary
YVONNE MARIE CREES Yvonne Marie Crees, daughter of Daniel W. and Doris (Hanson) Crees, was born in Osceola, Iowa February 19, 1944 and departed this life at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa October 14, 2010 at the age of 66 years 7 months 25 days. Vonnie started school at Higley, a one room country school, before attending and graduating from Allerton (ACL) High School where she was a star basketball player. Vonnie was married twice. These unions produced her most precious gifts, a daughter Kelly Jo and five sons: Barry, Blaine, Brian, Joseph and Jason. Vonnie's pride and joy were her children, their wives, and her grandchildren: Jami, Joshua, Meredith, and Daniel. Vonnie lived in Lafayette, Louisiana for many years before returning to Allerton and spending the last years of her life with her loving companion Max McCarty. Vonnie was employed at the Wayne County Hospital where she loved both her work and the many friends she made there. Vonnie took great pride in her home, enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers and was an excellent cook and baker. She also liked to watch the New Orleans Saints football team. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, sister Karen Teague, daughter Kelly Jo Arnold and son Jason Chappuis. She leaves to mourn her passing, sons Barry Arnold of Birmingham, Alabama, Blaine Arnold and wife Jessica of Lafayette, Louisiana, Brian Arnold and wife Elisabeth of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Joseph Chappuis and wife Dana of Broussard, Louisiana, grandchildren Jamie and Joshua Chappuis and Meredith and Daniel Arnold, sister Linda McKinney and husband Don of Derby, Iowa, Lesley Wilson, Tyler Wyatt, Mackenzie and Ben Shoup of Corydon, Iowa, Tyler Wilson and wife Rachel, Jordyn and Charlee Wilson of Allerton, Iowa, and her loving partner Max McCarty and family of Allerton, Iowa.
