Woody Mac Clapham's Obituary
Woody Mac Clapham, 80, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of family, friendship, and a lifelong love of fishing. Woody was a Vietnam veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart.
Born on May 8, 1945, Woody built a life defined by dedication, craftsmanship, and the quiet patience of a true outdoorsman. An avid bass fisherman well known throughout the Midwest for winning numerous tournaments and bass boats, he turned his passion into purpose through his long-standing business, Woody’s Pro Lures. Through his skillful hands and keen understanding of the water, he created lures that earned the trust of fellow anglers far and wide. For Woody, fishing was more than a hobby — it was a way of life, a source of stories, friendships, and countless sunrises spent on the water.
On August 11, 1990, Woody married the love of his life, Mary (Kellerman) Clapham, in North Liberty, Iowa. Together they built a life filled with laughter, shared adventures, and deep devotion. Their marriage was a steady partnership rooted in love and respect.
Woody was a proud father to his two daughters, Tammy (Bob) Horn and Sarah (Justin) Teter. He took great pride in their lives and accomplishments, always offering steady support, practical advice, and unconditional love.
His greatest joy, however, was being “Papa” to his seven beloved grandchildren: Tommy, Fitz, Charlie, Jade, Karleigh, Aubrey, and Tyse Mac. Whether teaching them about fishing, sharing stories, or simply enjoying time together, Woody treasured every moment spent with them. His grandchildren will forever carry the memory of his warmth, humor, and gentle guidance.
Woody will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and the calm wisdom he seemed to carry like a well-worn tackle box — always ready when needed. His life was a testament to doing what you love, loving your family fiercely, and finding peace in the simple things.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Funeral Services for Woody will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Thomas Funeral Home in Unionville, MO. Visitation will be held an hour prior from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
