Wilma Henrietta Johnson's Obituary
Wilma Henrietta Johnson, age 85, of Centerville, Iowa, departed into heaven on Friday, August 17, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Henry and Zatha (Paxton) Simmons on October 19, 1921 in Moravia, Iowa. She attended Moravia Community Schools.On December 10, 1938, Wilma was united in marriage to Edgar Johnson in Moravia. She and Edgar owned from 1951 till 1981, the Johnson's Furniture in Centerville for over 30 years. She was a charter member of the Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville. Wilma loved the Lord and shared her faith with her family and many loved ones. She was a loving wife, mother and was the 'Best Grandmother'. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Jerry Lee Johnson; sisters, Margarete Lou VanWaardhizen and Christine Simmons; brother, Donald Simmons and a grandson, Teddy Johnson.Wilma is survived by: her husband, Edgar Johnson of Centerville, Iowa; sons, Louie Johnson and Gerald and his wife, Kahla Johnson all of Centerville; daughters, Louise Agan and her husband, Dallas of Buffalo, Iowa, Dixie Weber of Centerville, Iowa, Vera Johnson of Eldridge, Iowa and Debbie Clayworth and her husband, Jesse of Centerville, Iowa; brothers, Harold Eugene Simmons and his wife, Ann of Knoxville, Iowa and George Edward Simmons and his wife, Phyllis of Oskaloosa, Iowa; daughter-in-laws, Karen Johnson and Chieko Stroud both of Centerville, Iowa; special niece, Norma Jean Blaycock of Phoenix, Arizona; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 11 am the Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Kristopher Wattelet officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 20, 2007 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to either Hospice of Central Iowa or to the family and can be left at the funeral home.
