Wilma Auxier's Obituary
Wilma Lucille Auxier, 92 of Clio and Chariton passed away Saturday, May 02, 2015 at Wayne County Hospital. Wilma was born to Emmett & Chloe (Bettis) Shriver on October 12, 1922 in Clio, Iowa at the family home where her grandparents had lived. She received her education from Clio High School graduating in 1941. In 1941, Wilma attended a nursing course in Iowa City for a year and a half. On April 17, 1942, Wilma was united in marriage to Leslie Auxier. As a young girl in high school she was active in music, school plays, basketball and cheerleading. Wilma's senior year of high school, she received the Citizenship Award in Clio. As the years went by, family became her life. She enjoyed her time at home and taking care of the kids. She was a member of the Clio United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Teacher, Annual Conference Delegate for many years, also district offices. Wilma has been a 4-H Leader on the local and county level. Wilma was employed at the Wayne County Hospital, Neeley Manufacturing and Allerton Gas Company. Survivors include two children: LuJean Trisler (Don) of St. Louis, Missouri, Alan Auxier (Janet) of Chariton, Iowa, four grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brother; Cecil Shriver (Kathy) of Clio, Iowa and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie Auxier and two grandsons. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon with Rev. Leroy Perkins officiating. Interment will be immediately following at Clio Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2015 at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon.
