William (Bill) Young age 79 of Mystic, Iowa died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville, Iowa.
William J. Young (Bill) age 79 was born July 17, 1932, in Mystic, Iowa, the twin son of George H. Young and Kate Fuller Young. He passed away March 3rd, 2012 at Marcy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa, after a battle with cancer.
Bill graduated from Mystic High School with the class of 1949.
Bill was united in marriage to Janet Perkins, March 21, 1960, at the Finnely Ave. Baptist Church, Ottumwa, Iowa. To this union, two children were born.
Bill is survived by his wife Janet, son Rocky (Naomi) Young, daughter Pamela Young, brother Sandy (Freda) Young of Newton, Iowa, sister's-in-law Dixie (David) Scurlock of Newton, PA., and Donna Young of Mystic, Iowa, two granddaughters, Tabetha (Amado) Arellano and Crystal Perrin, four great-grandsons, one great granddaughter, many nieces and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, twin brother John, and sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Ray Stickler.
Bill was a 50 year member of the Walnut Masonic Lodge #588.
Bill worked at Young's Service Station, Mystic, Iowa for 17 years, hauled grain for local farmers and retired from Manatts Construction Co. in 1996. After retirement, Bill enjoyed gardening, doing yard work and caring for the acreage. He enjoyed caring for his special pets and always made sure they were well taken care of.
Bill was a good husband and father and enjoyed being with his family most of all. He will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be Held at 11AM Tuesday morning March 6, 2012 at the Lange Funeral Home, Centerville. The family will be available to greet friends from 9-11AM Tuesday morning at the funeral home. Also friends may call Monday from noon until 8 PM at the Lange Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Elgin Cemetery, Mystic, Iowa. A memorial has been established to the Elgin Cemetery and may be left or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th St. Centerville, Iowa 52544. Condolences may be left at www.langefh.com
