William Thomas Kirby's Obituary
William Thomas Kirby, age 80 of Unionville, Iowa died Sunday, September 23, 2007 from injuries he received in a tractor accident on his farm near Unionville, Iowa. He was born the son of Harley and Maggie M. (Downing) Kirby on January 31, 1927 near Moulton, Iowa. He received his education in a rural Appanoose County School.Tom was united in marriage to Eunice Kushner, however they were later divorced. He worked for over 30 years at John Deere Works in Moline, Illinois. After his retirement, he joined his brother on the farm near Unionville, Iowa.He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Daisy Rominger, Delza Wiley, Dortha Schoening, Dolly Kirby and Deloris Peterson; half-brother, Cletus Robert Kirby.Tom is survived by: his son, Richard Kirby of Bellevue, Nebraska; step-daughter, Barbara; brothers, Donald Kirby of Unionville, Iowa and Samuel Kirby of Blakesburg, Iowa; sister, Delilia Glover of Bloomfield, Iowa; grandchildren, Leshia Anderson of Boone, Iowa and Mary Wood of Bellevue, Nebraska; also four great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 1 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery west of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton and the family will be present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the First Responders of Moulton and can be left at the funeral home.
