William Henry "Butch" Helleur III's Obituary
William 'Butch' Helleur III, 72 of Centerville passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Butch was born to William Henry Jr. and Betty Helleur (Shiffer) in Council Bluffs, Iowa on April 6, 1945. He received his education from Centerville schools graduating in 1963. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served four years. Butch was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Kaye Lee Washburn on October 10, 1964. He returned from the service to complete a two year Automotive Technical Degree at IHCC. Later he and his brother worked together running Helleur's Automotive in Centerville until retirement. After retirement Butch was active in the VFW, American Legion, and the Eagles Club. He also enjoyed old cars, fishing, shooting guns, and spending time with family. Survivors include children, Deborah Suzanne (Rod) Richards of Oskaloosa, Michael Todd (Brandi) Helleur of Fremont and Cari Lee (Don) Hubbard of North Port Florida, Amy (Kevin) Yardley of Ottumwa, grandchildren Dennis (fiance Paula) and Bridgette Richards, Zandra (Jeremiah) Fry, Nikki Stock, Carson Helleur and Anthony Fridley, Tyler (Dakota) Silvers, Brady (fiance Amanda) Silvers, Andrew and Kyle Silvers. Courtney (fianc Taylor) Crall, Brandon Crall, Zachary Crall, Angelica Hubbard and Alayna (Josh) Boer, great grandchildren: Aden and Avery Silvers, Hayden Stoddard, Kynzleigh Richards, Nathaniel, Donovan, and Erin Fry, Koy and Kaden Pollock, Elly Boer, Braxton Lovell and Maverick Townsend. Butch is survived by his brother Dennis (Helen) Helleur of Cincinnati, sister in laws Lorie (Gary Wade) Demry of Illinois and Lynn (Dennis) Cronk of Florida, and half-sister in law Helen (Jim) Dobson of North Carolina and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by Kaye Washburn and Hugh Washburn, his in laws. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will be in White Cemetery near Cincinnati.
