William "Bill" Dillon's Obituary
William "Bill" Dillon, Jr., 74, of Centerville, passed away on November 28, 2018 at his residence. William was born on October 23, 1944 in Kirksville, Missouri to William and Dorothy (Beach) Dillon. After graduating high school, Bill joined the United States Navy where he proudly served our country and was a decorated Veteran. He won the valor award. After serving in Vietnam, he went to Northeast Missouri State, now known as Truman University and received his business degree. He would later graduate from Mortuary College and worked first in Waterloo, Iowa and in Corydon for Randolph-Black Funeral Homes. Bill was a people person with the gift of gab who never met a stranger. He loved being a funeral director and enjoyed being able to help people in their time of need. Bill was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #2675 in Centerville. He was a member of The First Presbyterian Church where he was often the liturgist and usher. He loved his church and the members. He enjoyed meeting with friends at the Eagle's and was a regular at the Bowling Alley every day during the lunch hour. Bill is survived by his sister, Susan (Paul) Jaquith; nephews: Paul (Johanna) Jaquith and David (Heather) Jaquith as well as numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 1-4 pm, Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with family present from 2:00-4:00 pm.
